In line with our professional ethos, students are expected to maintain the same behaviours and appearance that they would adopt working in the industry for one of the UK’s leading companies.
We have a Professional dress for the workplace policy that applies to all the members of our learning community. Please read it carefully and if you need to have any clarification please email us on enquiries@southdevonutc.org or call us on 01626 215855. The governing body have recently approved our request to update our “Professional Dress Code” and have refined the policy with some minor amendments including acceptable colours, lengths of skirts, jewellery and hair-styles.
Aligned with this, in the Summer of 2018, our student voice group worked with our leadership team to source an opt-in school uniform. The drive for this came from some anxiety expressed by female students about what to wear at the start of the school day – they considered an opt-in uniform code would reduce anxiety and offer a simple option in getting dressed for school. We fully support any improvement in the wellbeing of our student group and have therefore sourced a selection of clothing that can be purchase through our uniform supplier, Thomas Moore in Exeter.
A selection of clothing can be found on the website and can be purchased online directly through the supplier or at the retailers in Fore Street, Exeter. These items include:
• A pleated checked skirt
• White blouses with embroidered South Devon UTC logo
• White boys shirts with embroidered South Devon UTC logo
• Navy school tie with South Devon UTC Logo.
• Unisex plain navy cardigan
• Unisex plain v-necked jumper
• Dark grey boys trousers
In addition, you may also buy South Devon UTC P.E. tops through Parent Pay.
