The Environment Agency supports South Devon UTC as it is keen to see young people develop the science and engineering skills to work in the environment, water and engineering sectors.
The Environment Agency works to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development. We have around 10,600 employees. Our head office is in Bristol. Locally, we have our main offices in Exeter and Bodmin. We’re responsible for a range of issues including managing the risk of flooding from main rivers, reservoirs, estuaries and the sea, regulating major industry and water quality and resources.
The Environment Agency employs people with a wide range of specialisms. This includes; engineers, hydrologists, biologists, ecologists. The Environment Agency runs a number of successful graduate schemes including its river and coastal engineering higher education programme.
“When we are recruiting engineers and scientists we look for knowledge of our industry and an enthusiasm to be involved. We believe that the UTC will give students the passion they need to ensure a commitment to a scientific or engineering career with us.”
