We need information about you and your child, so that we can provide them with the best education and support by making sure that the school receives all the government funding to which it is entitled.
Your application will be reviewed by an external organisation to confirm your eligibility.
Evidence
You will need to provide the college with at least one form of evidence in support of your application. This is usually in the form of a copy of the letters you receive detailing your income or benefits, such as
Child/Working Tax Credit Award for this year – Full letter (copies not originals)
P60 – Proof of income (before tax) for previous year (copies not originals)
Last 3 months or 12 weeks pay slips (copies not originals)
Official letter / confirmation from your employer outlining your earnings
Photocopies of recent official letter(s) from the relevant Benefit Agencies (copies not originals)
Official letter signed by your accountant confirming income for previous year
About This Form
Students in key stage 4, aged 14 to 16, will be offered a free school lunch if their parent is receiving any of the welfare benefits listed. Students in key stage 5 may also be eligible for free school lunches but they will need to complete a Post 16 Bursary Application Form.
Registering could raise money for your child’s school
Registering for free meals could raise an extra £1,300 for your child’s school, to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities.
This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving one of the welfare benefits listed in the form. It is therefore important to sign up for free school meals, so that your child’s school receives as much funding as possible.
How the information in this form will be used
The information you provide in this form will only be used by South Devon UTC, along with the supporting evidence you provide to confirm eligibility for Free School Meals. Once this is confirmed, this helps to decide how much money South Devon UTC will receive each year.
You only need to complete this form once and it will last for the duration of your child’s time at South Devon UTC. However, you will be asked to provide up to date evidence before the end of the academic year to ensure your eligibility will continue the following year.
Thank you for completing this form and helping to make sure your child’s school is as well funded as possible.
