UQT 1 to 6 (£16,461 starting to £26,034)
The future success of this country will depend on talented, high-quality scientists, engineers and technicians ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead. That’s why we at South Devon UTC are committed to providing a first-class practical education for the region’s young people to prepare them for the world of work in these exciting fields.
South Devon UTC are searching for an Unqualified Teacher with relevant qualifications and work experience within an engineering/technical/military environment to support our engineering department. You will instruct and facilitate the learning for students, assist with sourcing and preparing learning materials, contribute to the planning and review of learning programmes and curriculum. You will also coordinate learning that relates to the world of work through our employer sponsors, collaboration with the armed forces, Challenge Projects, health and safety and quality assurance. South Devon UTC will be an incredibly rewarding place to develop skills as an education professional with state of the art equipment, motivated small groups of students and an environment designed specifically for the specialisms of Engineering, Science and Digital Technologies. For the right candidate, training to become a qualified teacher would be supported.
Previous experience of training, working with young people and/or work within education would be an advantage. However, it is the ability to communicate effectively with students that is essential. It is important to have a flexible, patient and inspiring approach and a commitment to the students’ progression within their learning and as individuals, along with to your own professional development. An awareness of Safeguarding, Preventing Extremism and SMSC would be beneficial.
